ADRRN, its members and partners have successfully conducted the Asia-Pacific Regional NGO Partnerships Week 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. The four-days events include the launching of the Sphere Handbook 2018 and ALNAP’s State of the Humanitarian System, Localizing the ‘Nexus’ in Asia-Pacific dialogue, and the welcome reception with Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Group and Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crisis, all on the first day.
On the second day, the Regional Innovation Forum Asia (RIF-Asia) and the UNHCR eCentre Protection in Preparedness Roundtable was conducted. The third day saw a workshop on Strengthening Regional Response in Asia-Pacific, followed by three annual general meetings; ADRRN’s own AGM, the AADMER Partnership Group (APG)’s AGM, and the South Asia Together for Humanitarian Imperative (SATHI) Networks’ AGM.
The fourth day hosted another packed agenda on the Launch of ICVA Briefing Paper – “Navigating the Standards”, a session discussing using Sphere to support collective outcomes which was in line with the launch of the new Sphere Handbook, and a session on The Grand Bargain: Reflections on Progress in the Region.
