The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments initiative was developed in response to the General Assembly resolution 68/211 (2013) and launched in the lead-up to the World Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) in March 2015 to support the development of partnerships at all levels to implement the Sendai framework.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNISDR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.
The SFVC online platform is a useful tool to know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders.
Good practices and achievements will be highlighted through the online platform. A synthesis and analysis report for the SFVC will be launched at the biennium sessions of the Global Platform.
We hope all ADRRN members and partners working on DRR can use this platform to submit initiatives or commitments and share their activities for implementation of the Sendai Framework with the international community.
