On 22 December 2018, an unexpected tsunami hit Serang in Banten, Indonesia. Ambulance 118 Foundation, together with support from JAPFA Foundation and PT Medihop sent four ambulances to Serang, Banten and set up a management and medical support in Berkah Pandeglang Public Hospital. Coordination were established with the Municipal Health Office for Banten, and the Hospital’s Director. Two ambulances were sent to the isolated Kampung Sumur. Supported from PT Medihop, JAPFA Foundation and Ibu Ati, we delivered food, drinks, blankets and hygiene kits to the community in Kampung Sumur. We also set up a low-technology tele medicine in Berkah Pandeglang Public Hospital as an Incident Command for all community clinics for effective and quick communication.
